It is a 5 minute drive to the city centre where you can enjoy many bars, restaurants, retail shopping and cafes. Menu's for a number of restaurants are displayed in the room compendiums. We are the only motel in Invercargill located next to Surrey Park, Stadium Southland - Invercargill's multi sport and entertainment centre. New Zealand's only indoor velodrome located within this facility, is host to national and international cycling events. Southlanders are very patriotic; we love to get behind our home team, so there's always a great atmosphere at sporting events. Southland Museum has a wonderful display of Live Tuataras see Henry who is over 100 Years old. The other displays there are always changing a great way to spend an afternoon.

Bluff Area and The Bluff Oyster and Food Festival

Once a year Bluff hosts the Oyster and Food Festival busses run to and from the festival from Invercargill. Taste the best Oysters in the world and other seafoods, Great entertainment and competitions. Next festival 21st May 2016. Visit the Bluff Maritime Museum, or take one of the many walks. Bill Richardson Transport World

Bill Rochardson Transport World and Conference Centre. This is an amazing collection of Trucks and associated Memorabilia A collection of Henry Ford Letter cars from 1904 to 1946 all within a 3 to 5 minute walk from our Motel. While there visit The Grille Cafe open from 7.30am - 5pm Mon - Fri 9.00am -5pm Sat - Sun Transport World Museum hours will be 10am to 5pm daily This is the Largest Private Collection of its type in the World.

The Lignite Pit

Visit the Historic Lignite Pit and Gardens. Once a working lignite mine from 1904-1971 now a 16 acre wildlife sanctuary Which includes historic relics and a workman’s single hut museum. Situated on the Southern Scenic Route to the Catlins Enjoy the view of the lake from the Cafe

Riverton and the South Coast Heritage trail
